![]() The bar staff was attentive and did an amazing job at taking care of everyone in a timely manner. Since the bar was big and so well staffed, it was not hard to get service. The tables are plenty and are big enough to fit quite a few parties. There was a fairly decent crowd on opening night, and I never once felt crowded, overwhelmed, or over taken by people while in the taproom. This isn’t even including the outside space, which I think will be absolutely perfect for fall evenings in North Texas. This brewery was definitely designed to house a TON of people. The space has allowed them to create a very large taproom with a long bar, plenty of tables, and a stage for bands. This warehouse turned brewery is the absolute perfect spot for Armadillo Ale Works, and they have renovated the space beautifully. Their taproom/brewery is housed in an old warehouse that was once a music venue. These are my 3 main takeaways from Armadillo Ale Works’ Grand Opening:Īrmadillo Ale Works is located just on the edge of Downtown Denton and is a short 5 minute walk away from the town square. Now that I talked about how great of a fit this brewery is for Denton, let’s talk about Armadillo Ale Works themselves. Armadillo Ale Works’ Motto “Representin’ Denton” is perfectly described by the mural that greets you when you walk in.Īrmadillo Ale Works has filled that absence and fits perfectly on the outskirts of downtown. Following the closing of Audacity Brewing – located just outside of Downtown Denton – in November of 2017, there was an absence of beer that was being brewed, enjoyed, and distributed all in Denton, Texas. While Denton has plenty of bars and taprooms (and is home to Denton County Brewing Company), they had lost their spot on the map as being home to a larger scale craft brewery. Maybe I’m biased since I grew up in Denton and have lived here for quite some time, but Armadillo Ale Works is exactly what this town needed. The Craft Brewery scene is booming in North Texas, and Armadillo Ale Works has found an amazing fit up I-35 in Denton. And finally, on the first weekend in June they opened their doors to thirsty beer lovers of Denton, Texas. Over the years, Armadillo Ale Works grew in size and popularity. To give a little background, Armadillo Ale Works was founded in 2010 with a few recipes and a business plan. The grand opening of Armadillo Ale Works in Denton has been 8 years in the making. Armadillo Ale Works is located on Bell Ave just on the outskirts of Downtown Denton. Last Friday (June 1st, 2018), I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of the Armadillo Ale Works brewery in Denton.
